Is there a specific kind of seaweed that is the best to use? When I get mine from 김 밥 천 국 it looks like a nice deep green and not black. Also, they oil they brush on it after the roll it...sesame oil, or something else? Thanks. I can't wait to make it. |

I've made it and you don't have to brush oil on it after rolling. Some people sprinkle sesame seeds on the roll though. |

Actually, aren't there seeds in the rice?
Do you know what specific kind of seaweed you used? There are millions at E-mart-uh to choose from, and I don't want some salty, fishy seaweed. |

The kimbap seaweed actually says 김밥 on the package. Many also have a picture of kimbap on it as well. The darker and richer the color, the better the quality.
Also, make sure that when you rolling it, that your rice is warm-- not hot, but warm-- so that it will stick to yr seaweed. It is best for flavor and for stickiness to brush sesame seed oil onto yr seaweed before rolling.
Good luck! And lemme know if you have any other questions! |

why on earth would you want to make gimbap? at about every 10 feet there is somewhere you can buy it.
this would be akin to me at home saying "how can i make a burger & fries at home just like mcdonalds makes it."
the only way to make it interesting would be to start adding your own ingredients, fusion style.
don't forget the spam & the mayo. |
