I came across a rabbit restaurant in Incheon while riding out to Seoul on my motorcycle. Ever since then, I've always been curious as to how they prepare rabbit here in Korea. I just never had the time to go out and try it, and strangely enough, none of my Korean friends and co-workers want to go and try it with me. Has anyone tried rabbit here in Korea? Anyhow, I'm going to have to go and try it sometime soon. Anyone care to join me? |

It must be made with low-grade bunnies. After all, they couldn't out-hop some Korean man with a cigarette in one hand and a butcher's knife in the other. |

Speaking of rabbits, if you've ever seen a really big Korean animal market, they always have goats and turkeys, even though you neeeevvvveeeerrrr see goat or turkey on the menu. Anyone know what they do with those? |

And I used to see pheasants on the wing in the hills of Anam-dong ten years back. |

they use goats to make medicine/goat soup. don't know about turkeys. i tried making curry from goat meat from moran market but the meat was nasty. i don't know how koreans raise goats but they must do something bad to them.
the rabbits at moran market are expensive too! 20000 or 30000 won for a rabbit. geez! |

Hmm...rabbit. Had a couple girlfriends with rabbits. They are actually very sweet and relatively smart animals (or at least, smarter than one might think...) (by the way I'm talking about the rabbits, not the girlfriends
So for me, it'd probably be like trying dog... might taste good, but still a little wierd as it'd be like eating an old friend. Although I've met a few Aussies who view them as disgusting rat-like things to be disposed of ASAP. But, food is a subjective emotional experience anyway not really meant to be logical ...not to spoil yer dinner... enjoy!
As I read the above, it occurs to me I've had one too many glasses of wine. Hopefully they serve wine at the rabbit restaurant. |
