Be careful when mentioning hagwon names, director names, or bad incidents involving either online. If you're in Korea, the law may take you down for slander or libel.
I've become a little worried lately, with the insane Zenkimchi situation and other online-related fiascos. This story is getting so out of hand that it's been in the Korean Herald. I'm sure we all remember the Englishspectrum event.
Basically, this psycho hagwon director flipped out on a teacher who wasn't interested in re-signing with the school. Refused to pay him, etc... He took her to court, froze her assets at the school. He won in court. Then she got ahold of his personal blog and is suing him for libel. There is a criminal investigation underway.

I noticed the comments on his blog quickly fell silent after the law became involved.
Ok, so. I see a lot of people mentioning hagwon names and even directors names on these forums. Is a public anonymous forum site safe? As compared to a personal blog I would imagine it is, but...
Thoughts?
It seems that blogs and expat websites have become fuel for the burning fires of racism in Kimchiland.

While I'm not siding with the director in this case, it does go to show that blogs aren't an anonimity-free zone where people can hurl accusations, insults etc. around without recrimination.
I'm all for privacy on the Internet, but, conversely, the privacy of others should be upheld as well. |

Yep. I'm being very careful with what I say online these days. |
