Do you guys ever watch that program on KBS (channel 63) where there are a bunch of foreign young ladies who speak fluent (and I mean really fluent!) Korean. Super impressive. The program is on Tuesday evening at around 8pm.
It's a kind of talk/variety show, and the foreign girls are quite young. They look kind of Russian or Ukrainian, but there is also one black foreign girl who could be Nigerian or Ghanaian (not sure).
Those girls are all hot, and they speak such fluent Korean, I wonder how they learned? They do not really look like University type students (might be wrong here) because they are so hot looking, but in any case, if anyone who knows Korean could tell me who those chicks are and how they learned such fluent Korean, it would be much appreciated.

i don't know where they learned. some of them have really terrible korean too, and are only on there because they are hot. by the way, the name of the show is 미녀들의 수다 - Beauties' Chatter or something like that. I hate the show, so I never watch it. I only see or hear it on sometimes at restaurants/bars/friends' houses. A lot of people tell me if I were a girl I could be on there (i'm a 미남 not a 미녀  ) |

| My Korean girlfriend said they were all students studying Korean (hence the random countries). Apparently the Canadian one is a model as well, not sure about any of the others. |

Their native country is displayed on a tag next to their chair. I wonder why they have a show for a bunch of foreign ladies speaking Korean, but not one for foreign men speaking Korean. |

wow...
uh...the show is "mi nyeo deul e suda, global talk show".
i had someone burn me some copies so i could listen to korean.
not all of them are students.
the black girl is from the US, she's been in korea since '97...it even says USA under her name card...is it that hard to read USA!?
she was also the first foreign government employee i believe.
some of the other girls are university students, some are models (supposedly), and some are just working at whatever jobs they work at.
they have total beginners (that blond chick yelezabeth (SP)) and more fluent speakers, leslie...the "black girl".
there are 2 canadians, one american, one brit, a german girl, 2 japanese (one is a kyopo), a mongolian, a malaysian, a chick from kahsikstan(??), a girl from ecuador, an indian, a finnish chick and i don't remember where the others are from.
there's not one for foreign guys because they are already over represented in korea! |

Yeah right! I was going to say all uni students are hot! I was, when I was at uni.. Most of the girls were, before I was (I remember our high school trip to uni solely on their account) and when I was there.. Uni students are the fittest people ever 'cos they exercise their grey matter, or at least attempt to perfect the art of passing for people who do, and are usually slightly malnourished! |

I knew I would get nailed on that one......
How can I put it - some of those girls just didn't give me the impression of being students, naive as that may seem, and I have been informed that I am partly right, because some of the girls on the show are entertainers or engaged in other pursuits.

actually, my wife and I were harassed by some assistant produced who wanted us to appear on some similar show. The calls were nearly daily for a week, and no matter how many times we told em to stuff it, they didn't get the message. Seems they're having a hard time trying to find enough foreign men with passable Korean skills to appear on these programs. Gee, wonder why that is? Of course, it would have nothing to do with the constant bad press foreign men have been getting for the last 3 years, no not at all.
I think most foreign men with passable Korean skills who have been here awhile instinctively know that it's a complete sham, and that the direction it would take would not be nearly as flattering as what the women get, which isn't saying much to being with.

my friend put in an application for me for that show. all my fob friends wanna see me on that show.  thankfully, they haven't contacted me back...guess i don't have the hots for it. |

I think the answer is obvious. Showing hot foreign guys hitting on Korean women would not get very good ratings in Korea. |
