Ok, weird random question. I'm coming over there in August and have been lurking about, taking in the collective wisdom of this board, and such (so hello, guys!).

Do any of your schools make yearbooks? I've seen some uni people mention sponsoring English newsletters and the like, but I was just curious about this "tradition," because I sponsor the yearbook at my high school in the states.

If your school does make them, what are they like?

My school makes them. They are like yearbooks, though the day I got my photo taken I had no previous warning. I was hung over as hell.

Public middle and high schools have graduation albums that are only for the graduating class. There's a small student committee that provides a little bit of input. Most of the preparation work for our school's album is out-sourced to our school photographer. They're more a documentation of what the students did through school (field trips, school ceremonies, sports days, etc.) than what you'd think of an American-style 'yearbook'.
