When I get enough votes, I'll run a chi-square test.

I do not like Harry Potter. I am bored. WHERE IS THAT OPTION!!!!???

nevermind... I just voted using your options.

I bet people who dont vote at all are the non-creative ones. Who wants to state (even anonymously) they are not creative? See... the problem is we dont know how many people will just look at your poll and say to themselves "I dont know if Im creative or not so I wont vote". Of course, since they dont know they're not creative, it implies they are not... but we cant measure that!

After reading this, I need a ' he is retarded' option.

edit for balance put in an ' he is a genius' option, I suppose.

With a comeback like that, I am hoping you say you dont like Harry Potter so you can support my theory.

For it to be a comeback I would have to be responding to something said against me. Please learn what the words mean before you use them.

Nope, I meant to say comeback. I was thinking you probably lack creativity and like Harry Potter and felt threatened by Tomato's post. I dont know what to tell you about your creativity problem... Try writing a cheesy romance novel or dressing up in your wonderwoman underwear and taking some artistic photos of yourself for inspiration.

That's actually a good point. The poll was poorly designed if the idea was to produce meaningful results.

Also, I could not answer, because I neither like nor dislike Harry Potter, and I don't know if I'm creative.

I've only read only one potter novel and thought it was pretty good as childrens novels go. It is nothing to 'the secret island' by Enid Byton however. I do feel threatened by tomato's posts but only because I'm never quite sure if a tomato is a vegetable or a fruit, thus her posts confuse and enrage me.

I think I may have missed the original post. You don't like Harry Potter? I'm also unsure how you would quantify creativity. Anybody looking for meaningful results from a poll which is measuring peoples opinion of something that is unmeasurable is misguided. I'm creative in some things(cooking) and not in others(romance novels). I may be a little young..wonderwoman? Stay relevant man please.

edit: actualli im sure ive read more than one when i think about it.

I liked the Harry Potter books and eagerly await the newest one. I found the movies by and large unwatchable except for the gary oldman one.
My point, though: I hate the word 'creative,' especially when it's used as 'i'm creative' and 'she's not creative.'
Creativity is meaningless. The question is, to me, 'what do you create?' Hitler was creative. Ayn Rand was creative. I'm creative. Mussolini, ditto. Kurt Vonnegut was creative as well.
So?
Good night, all--I'm off to the pissoire to create a bran cobra. Then I'm gonna create a yogurt stain. Should I get a merit badge?

Neither like nor dislike. Saw the first movie, it was alright. no desire to read the books. I'll abstain from voting so as not to mess up your important research. I'm formerly creative.

It looks like you're right.

In one of my classes in college, we were told that creative people tend to see themselves as creative.
That must have led me to assume the contrapositive--that not creative people tend to see themselves as not creative.
Apparently that's not true.

It doesn't look like I won't be able to analyze the results.
I was planning on running a chi-square test, but I don't have all four boxes filled in.

Yeah right, as I was considering whether or not your poll would work, I didnt think the contrapositive applied.. I was just thinking 'other'.. like, the people who are not creative just wouldnt participate.

Hmmmm... maybe you could create a poll that asks, like, 10 questions. 1 question would be like, "do you think you are creative" and the answers could include, "yes, no, i dont know, maybe". another question would be "do you like Harry Potter." But then you could ask some totally unrelated questions, like, "what is your favorite color". "Do you like red or blue pickles on your pizza?" (You could disquise the poll as a food color preference survey, for example...errr.. well maybe something that is related to Harry Potter and/or creativity, indirectly, would be better)... anyway, you get the idea.

With so many questions,
how would I test the data for significance, though?
The chi-square is the only formula I know.

Randomize the participant selection process, for one. Volunteer participant data is notorious for being unreliable. Laughing

'Course, I'm just funnin' ya, but at the very least you could have added more options to the poll.
