I was really surprised by this new wine bar opening up near me but I guess I shouldn't be as the media constantly has these lifestyle articles on wine. I went there with some people and ordered a bottle of cheap chilean and there was all this pomp and ceremony and cork sniffing etc
i guess corked wine is a remote possibilty but I just wanted to chill out and have a drink
I saw in one of the english papers on the WE this guy was telling people who had never really drank the stuff to go out and buy a bottle of grange and some other ex french blonk. This knob quoted was telling people they shouldn't drink whites
most local knowledge appears to be derived from a series of japanese comics
expensive is seen as best justifying these absurdly high mark-ups, still at least i can go and get a glass of wine now after work |

Wine drinkers are pretentious? We've got to let people know! Now, should I hijack a sky-writing plane or walk into the parliment building strapped with explosives? |
