i just arrived here to start a university job and suddenly all has changed. All terms of agreement have been broken from class size to housing arrangements. i have decided to ditch the job. i feel i owe them nothing, in fact i should take the airfare and run for my troubles, but how risky is this? i don't have my registration card, but then my visa is only two days old, will this be a problem at the airport? i am thinking of just leaving on a saturday or something like that. suggestions welcome.....

If that's what you really want to do then I think it's as easy as booking a flight and getting on the plane. They will not detain you because you have a visa.

On the other hand there are actions you can take in order to have your employer live up to the terms of your contract. You might want to look into other options before just getting up and running off.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Get the hell out of dodge my friend...run as fast as you can to the airport and thank your lucky stars you are out of her and back in your own country where you will have rights, your sanity and your health.

It is really easy to do the runner - just go to the airport and book yourself in on the next flight.

However, you do have some legal recourse (02-872-9797). Even if you just find out what your options are to fix some of these problems. Investing a week of your life may just be worth it.

Nevertheless, if you do decide to do the runner, it would be a really nice gesture on your part if you shared the name of the university and the name of the person who screwed you over; that way, the rest of us will stay away in droves from the dump and they will have to rethink their policies.
