This was a nice feature in an otherwise normal looking form contract. I didn't look at it with a fine toothed comb yet, but it appears quite in line with the law. It even had an efl-law link at the bottom.
No specific town was mentioned yet, it says the BOE needs 100 people....
Its through a recruiter.
What's that area like? What kind of lifestyle, and air quality etc. can be expected?
Is it too large of an area to tell, maybe I need to press for specific towns? Or is the whole area not worth considering because its too rural or too polluted for sure? Any help is always appreciated. Thanks!
Oh, this is a Public High School and for 11th and 12 grade only (well that's what I requested). |

Gyeonggi is definitely too large an area to tell. It is the largest province in Korea totally surrounding Seoul and in the North going right up to the border with North Korea. You will want to find out which town because it does range from very rural possibly somewhat remote small towns to cities which are only around 20 minutes from the Seoul subway system ... there is a big difference across the province (which is the one I live in) ...
The four weeks holiday clause makes me suspect that the school may be in a rural area ... My Gyeonggi public school contract has 14 working days leave and I do remember that schools classified as "remote" do get extra leave ... In your situation I would want to know more about the school and the town so you can decide if it does meet your needs - what is important to you ... I would also not necessarily reject a school that is in the "remote" category because there may still be very reasonable access to Seoul ... and you do get paid a little more plus have the extra leave.
Do have a very good look at the contract ... to make sure that you are happy with everything in it...

Thanks, I had that link and it doesn't really show much or anything real, all the tourism sites don't. The offer said that, "One of Biggest Education Board of Korea and very closed by Seoul (within one hour distance by public transportation where is much closer from North Seoul to central Seoul, we say Gangnam, it�s about one and half or almost two hours away by subway but suburb of Seoul, where we are placing teachers are much closer to central Seoul and even modern cities so living conditions are developed and pretty much nice to live than around of Seoul) http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:The_administration_map_of_Gyeonggi_Province.jpg".

If you can find out the actual city .. most of the cities have their own website as well ... Plus people who live there ... or have lived there may be able to post more "what it is like to live in". I do agree with the convenience to Seoul of much of Gyeonggi - some of the Gyeonggi cities have stations on the Seoul subway ... and others are not very far by bus away from Subway stations .... which makes travelling to Seoul when you want to / need to very easy .... It is also not very expensive at all on buses and subway here ... much much cheaper than I was used to ...
I find that living where I do gives me both the convenience of being close to Seoul and the benefits (for me) of not living in the middle of a very big city ...
