Yea, open 9 - 5. 8 - 9 on weekends. Just walk right on in. If the MPs say, "Halt". It just Korean for "welcome" and just ignore them like any convience store clerk.

Sorry, couldn't resist.... Smile

Seriously, last I heard you need ID which will be left at the gate and a service member to sign you in and accompany you AT ALL TIMES. That goes for any day of the week unless it's locked down.

The military post will never let you in without a military sponsor or without you being in the military yourself--trust me! You cannot get in if you are a civilian....

I have access to the Yongsan Army Base. My father is a U.S. NAVY Vet. He sponsors me, so if you want to get in, contact me--got U.S. MILITARY friends there!

When I first came to Korea I wanted to join the flying club at Osan Airbase. I'm Canadian but a Canadian vet. Everybody said OK, then two weeks later 9/11 hit. No more flying club! Effen Ayrabs.

Yeah, the Commanding Officer at Osan Air Base tightened rules big-time in terms of being really aware of who can enter or cannot! Of course, the cause of it from 911. The 'flying club," MUSTANGS--awesome....

The electronics market will mostly be open as well as the I'Park mall, Electroland, Nanjin Arcades, and Son in Plaza.

I think what he really wants to know, even if he won't come out and say it, is if the red light district will be open.

My guess is there will probably be a few girls on duty.

Listen to cdninkorea, The Redlight district will be running with fewer girls, cuz all of their customers wont be there because Yongsans market is closed! ha ha even whores need a holiday. I understand that this is a different country than what ur used to but, its still first world.

And please people know what ur talking about before you post, this guy wants your experiences not your opinions. Rolling Eyes

ttompatz has helped me and a whole lot of other people on the board with enough little questions like this to inspire me to jump in and say that he is probably vastly more knowledgeable than you are.

And furthermore ... as for using the random justification of "its a first world country," have you compared Korea's work habits to those in the US or western Europe? They have a tendency to work a lil' more here. For example, our office staff at my hagwon will be in on Thursday helping move to a new location.

Sheesh, talk about random attempt at flaming on the internet.

Yes, Koreans are at work much longer here, but I think that actual "work" time is the same.
