|
|
I've been hearing about a new string of "European" English schools in Seoul that only hire British or South African teachers. Apparantly these schools pay 2.8mil on average and they're, well, pretty elite. As far as I know, the Canadian accent was holy in South Korea and I find this pretty interesting.
Anyone know anything about this new shift in English recruiting mentality?
Me thinks it's a rather interesting, would like to back it up with some real examples though.

The Canadian accent is not holy in Korea. It just sounds like a US accent.
Obviously the United States has an economy that works, so Korea doesnt attract many US teachers.Canada doesnt have a very good economy so Korea is full of Canadians who are employed on the strength that their country has a border with the US. |
