I'm looking for a good home for a one and a half year old female cat that I've been caring for. Her name is Sasha and I came across her back in December 2005, when I found her in a cardboard box outside my hagwon. She was around 4 months old, and in pretty rough shape. I'm pretty sure the people who had her before didn't take good care of her. She was really frightened and stayed under my bed for most of the first month, but gradually came around and became friendly. I took care of her until my contract was up in May, then a friend of mine had her over the summer. I came back to Korea in September 2006 and have been doing what I can to get her all fixed up. She's good and healthy, and was spayed back in December 2006. I would take her back to Canada with me when I finish, but I'm going to Malaysia to teach after I finish here.
She needs some time to get used to new people, she's cautious, so the first couple weeks you'll have to take it slow and let her come to you. Once she gets to know you, she's very loving and affectionate and likes lots of attention.
I won't be able to give her up until June, as she is going to be having an operation in May to fix one of her back legs. After the operation, I'll keep her for a month while she recovers, and when she has completely recovered, hopefully by mid-June, she'll be ready to move into her new home.
If you take her, I don't expect any money or anything in return. All I want is to find a good home for her. I'll also provide you with a litter box (with a roof, which really helps keep things neat in these small Korean apartments), bed, toys, cat treats, and cat carrier.
Im located in Cheongju, in the center of Korea. I have access to a car, so it will be no trouble driving to another city to bring her to her new home. Please let me know if you have any questions. You can reach me at: [email protected]. Thanks so much.

This was a very worthy thing you did for this cat. If I still lived in Korea on a teaching visa, I would have loved to care for your cat. I hope you will take her or him with you if all else fails. They tend to bond with the original owner--you. Such a lovely cat you have, for I had one for many, many years...I was in a similar situation once: I was contemplating finding a new home for my cat, Minko, because I wanted to move to another state, so I tried to make myself believe he was taxing on me, and that he was just another cat. Guess what? I did move and the self-convincing did not work. I brought him with me. I am glad I did--the joy he gave me after all those shitty days of teaching spoiled kids made my life a little better! I hope you'll make the right choice? Meow....
It's when you come home, open your door, and your cat is right there, waiting to be hugged--isn't that awesome? Very unconditional, huh.... |

| Thanks for the reply Tomodachi. Things are looking good with Sasha, it's been busy the last while with the vet, she went in for tests last week and the results showed that her bad leg couldn't be operated on. The vet said the best thing to do was to amputate it, so that happened last Wednesday. She's recovering at the vet now, and the stitches'll be out by the end of May. She's doing good, not too happy about everything that's happened, but she's strong and taking it good. The way things are now, I won't be able to give her up until sometime in June, after she's had enough time to recover completely. |

Thanks for sharing!
I hope all works out, really...
I hope the next person who takes care of your friend doesn't pass her along to another, then the "other," passes her around to another...
all my best. |
