Hey guys,
I just bought some rather large beans each being about the size of my thumbnail that were in green and purple pods. Does anyone know what their English name is and how to cook the suckers? They look yummy and I tried to find them on the net but no luck. |

i'm by no means an expert, but they might be hyacinths. i grew them a couple of years ago, and they had purple and green pods. if they are hyacinths, you have to boil them a couple of times because they're mildly poisonous. google 'hyacinth' to see if the beans look the same as yours. you can find instructions for cooking them as well. |
