Hey everyone!

I've been seriously considering going to South Korea to teach and have been doing quite a bit of research on it, though it seems like the more I look, the more questions I end up making. Which is fantastic. If I can get them answered, hopefully I can make some good, educated decisions in the end. Smile

I noticed a lot of division lines between going with recruiters and not... I don't want to discuss that, but I do have some related questions.

1) Do you know of any GOOD recruiters specifically? There's plenty of blacklists, but there doesn't seem to be any suggestions. I've been looking at ASK Now Inc., PeopleRecruit, Russel Recruiting, and Footprints. Anyone know anything about the first three at least (I've seen some comments on Footprints already, but feel free to add to them!). I'm especially interested in any information I can get about ASK Now.

2) If I don't use a recruiter, exactly how would I go about finding jobs? I don't know Korean (working on getting a base knowledge), I don't know very much about S.Korea, and it seems to me that it would be just as much as a luck of the draw than if you went through a recruiter. I'm sure there's already posts / pages of advice on this one and I've just missed it among the barrage of information. Feel free to point me to these pages!

That's just to get warmed up... Wink But I'll hold off otherwise, as I'm sure the other questions may end up being answered by default and as I continue looking.

Glad to have found the site!

Have a good one ya'll!

if you go to the job board, there are both schools themselves that advertise positions and recruiters who advertise for the school. I applied to both when looking for my job.

Post your resume. Put what you want. I put that I wanted to be near
a ski resort. I think this let them know I was serious about leaving the US.

Do what the other posting said and work with both. Also, post your resume.

Don't send your original degree. If you are doing EPIK don't buy your ticket
until you have the visa in hand. Don't work without a visa. Have some emergency cash with you. Have a bank account back home and bring your debit card.
