I wrote a week or so ago tha I wasn't paid for my salary from my summer camp position. Little has changed - I hung out in the boss' office at HQ until he would see me - and got 900,000won out of him - I'm still owed another even 2,000,000won...he says tomorrow, but this seems unlikely from how things have gone so far, and is probably just a delaying tactic. I have wrote a fair bit abt this problem, so check in the 'search' box. The latest problem, however, is that he is apparently sweet with the local labour office, having paid off soe guy ther e- I was told that on Friday by the employee who hired me and has just quit herself. So, should I have to take legal action, how can I do it - can I switch to another labour office. I have lost a $hitload of money already, due to having to return to Korea from my vacation in Thailand (no more money, credit card maxed out plus interest now...)...no home, and now maybe that little bit more powerless...all advice welcome. What's the deal with protesting (and humiliating the company) legally in Korea anyway...just me a few friends... I worked legally in Korea, so no issues there...

...start a picket line in front of his office....it'll cause him to "lose face" and he'll probably pay you asap. On one side of the picket, write something to the effect of "X cheats foreigners out of money" in English and write the same thing in Korean on the other side... it worked for me.

That picket idea is a good one. I like it and it will probably produce the results. YOu might even make the news.

Geez I really hope you get the balance of what's owed to you. My friend had to harass them for two months until they finally coughed up.
Along with picketing, threaten to blacklist them on every conceivable teaching board possible. Tell them you will make it your mission in life.

Good luckistan
