Most of the websites (i.e. Google Translate, Babelfish) do a terrible job at translating. Here are some gems that I have gotten:

Korean word for "Shipping" > English translation > "Boat song"
Korean word for "Olive oil" > "Olive gasoline"
Korean word for "Best" > "grand world champion"

I've gotten many other strange expressions come up like,

"day of the horse chicken", "it affixes and it does not sell to peel,"<--WHAT? "Under support possibility it comes only consequently to the graphics card and to refer route it wishes."

So...anyone know of some good software or website that translates in a meaningful way?

The one which I use in the office is called : Jungam Global.

we get gems like this :

물론이며, 배관 누수등의 문제로 인한 건축 마감공정의 잠재적 원가부담을 방지하고 고객에 대한 최고의 품질을
[ Of course, latent circle of architecture finish process by problem of piping water leakage etc.. prevents burden and superlative quality about customer ]

so really it always needs a further translation for it to make sense in english.
Makes for fun - sometimes.

check out my website under interesting links. You'll find a multi-language translator. It is useful up to 2 to 3 word phrases. After that, you need something better.

What I want to know is how does the word "bedspread" make it into every second sentence?

요 means bed/mat thing/bedspread kinda thing. however it is also used as an honorific. so when the translator sees it, it sees it as a word not a word ending.
