Hi,

I'm new to this forum. Last year I returned from a tour in Peace Corps in Ukraine. I want to teach now in Korea and have been working with an agency. I'm trying to find out if there is a resource that lets you search out cities and schools for opinion from others that have done this before.

I haven't found anything like that here but does anybody know if such a thing exists?

Thanks, I think I'll be using this a lot as I prepare and after I arrive.

...in case my first post was unclear, I have a telephone interview with a school and of course am looking for info on it and its location.

Maybe that was already clear...

Unfortunately, there are few resources other than forums like this to find out information. Even when recruiters give you their assurance of a "quality" referral, you can't always depend on them to be honest. The best thing is to try and ask directed questions and see if you can find out where your city and particular school is. I knew a case of a friend who came to Korea after signing a contract with one particular public school. Upon arrival his recruiter took him to a completely different city and he ended up teaching in a hagwon instead of the school he had already signed on with. The recruiter simply changed the contract without his knowledge, and made some excuse that the school had backed out of the original contract.

Too many stories to tell regarding the issues. Check out the different areas of the forum and there is likely someone who has posted the information you are looking for. Best of luck to you...

Post the name of the school and/or city. Most likely, someone will have heard of one of them.
