I can see why everybody says " ignore your comments" Am sure you have nothing else to do except make ineffectual annotations about everyone, evidently brought on by your depraved childhood.

you need the background check in order to get the visa at a public school.

I don't know how the UK system works, but I would get on it right away and ask to have it sent to either a fixed addressed either in your present location or at a reliable place in Korea.

The important thing is to get on it ASAP, because for a public school visa it is required.

It depends on the school and the system whether or not they will require you to get the police check ... I did not need to get and did not get a police check before I got my E2 visa to work in a public school...
I did have to get a police check before I got my teaching job in Australia.

Check the website for the county poilice force that your hometown or city is in. On the site they will have all the info about how to apply for the police check. If you are a Londoner then I think the Met Police website would be your best bet.
I don't think they will send the result overseas, so you will have to get it sent to a UK address then sent on.

I am from Kent and here is the information on their site regarding police checks: http://www.kent.police.uk/Freedom%20of%20Information/Data%20Protection/Data%20Protection.html

Although this check isn't as detailed as a CRB check it will still list any crimes committed against kiddies, but not go into detail.

Hi
When i applied for the public school job I also needed a police check , however, when you do apply for a police check u will be provided with a receipt and according to my knowledge they do accept the receipt until you have received it and you will have to forward it to them immediately.

Don't know if that will help..
Hope it does though Embarassed

As far as I understand, the police check requirement for public schools has to do with the SCHOOL (usually SMOE, EPIK or GEPIK). It is not needed to get a visa.

I was told I needed a police check for a public school as well. I was in Vietnam at the time and getting one there, though possible, was a complete pain in the ass. (Not cheap, either). I never did it as there wasn't much time and the school wanted me placed. I NEVER heard about the check again and I finished a year.

I wasn't with EPIK or anything, was hired directly by the school.

Say you're in Thailand and you will get the check once in Korea.

Good luck.
