|

Hey, I have a question I hope someone can answer. I'm currently downloading an 8 gb torrent (a legal one) of souce files of an open source movie (The Boy Who Never Slept). I'm using the torrent from the link on the website. Anyway, I'm using utorrent to DL it, and out of a posssible 159 seeds and 91 peers, I'm only connected to 1 seeder at 2kb/s, and at that rate it will take months to DL. It's been this way for hours. Is there anything I can do to get connected to more seeds and peers, without disabling my firewall? Here's the tracker
Other torrents I've DLed with utorrent have been much speedier with more connections.
Thank you |

Is the port your torrent client using open?
Try increasing the number of connections. Options/preferences/bittorrent Global max number of connections.
Right click on the torrent in your client, go to advanced, and click on "clear peer list". |

Thanks for your response pkang. I'm using the same port I've been using. I tried changing it using the "random port" button, but nothing happened. How do I know which port I should be using for this? My global max number of connections was at 750, I increased it to 10000. I also cleared the peer list. Nothing's changed, except now I've lost the one seeder I had.
Any other suggestions, or a suggestion for which port to use?
Thanks,
Mark |
