Got a little situation over here.
In the building next to mine, there are two companies that are related to dogs. One is a Jindo dog assn and one is a racing dog assn. The offices are closed right now, but for the past five months or so, they've been locking a dog up inside of the bathroom (leaving the window open) over the entire weekend. The dog wails and screams from 6am to midnight on both days, even some weekday nights. It appears that when the office is closed down for the night, the dog is left locked up in the bathroom.
I've been extremely busy these past few months, but today I went over there to investigate and found a locked (from the outside) bathroom door and the dog is alone inside. I'm wondering if that's against the law in Korea and if a rescue assn could help in this particular situation.
I don't want to confront the business owners since my family lives so close to them and I certainly don't want someone revenging on them over calling the cops. I've heard some pretty nasty stories about how Koreans revenge eachother with chemicals and beatings. Since I'm working 14 hours a day, I would probably not be home to protect them if trouble arose. I still want to do something though, since the dog is obviously suffering and locked up inside of a bathroom.
Any ideas or suggestions? Posters who suggest we eat him for dinner are welcome to phuck off. |

SuperFly,
I hate to break this to you but there is no rescue assn. in Korea that will help with this situation. Also, you calling the police will only make you look like a fool. They will not do anything either, probably just laugh at you. The only thing you can do is try to rescue the dog yourself. Leave a note in Korean with your phone number and say that you want to buy this dog for one million won in cash. If they decide to sell you the dog, be prepared to hand over the bills and take care of the dog. That's about your only option. |

Have you seen the cages used to keep dogs out in the country? Even if this bathroom is just a toilet, than it's probably bigger.
I don't think there's anything wrong with complaining, but you'd probably have better luck citing the noise disturbance more than the dog's welfare. What is it you're concerned about? |

They leave the dog alone, locked up in a bathroom for days on end. It's wrong. He wails and cries from early morning till past midnite some days.
Can't. They're really a gangster operation with the "Jindo dog racing assn" as a front for their illegal activities. Brother in law broke the news to me this morning. Gonna have to bite the bullet on this one. I don't know enough Kung Fu to take on a whole army of dudes right next to my apartment building if ya know what I mean. Thanks for the advice brothers. |
