Going on a long solo trip and selling my beloved Bibler for something smaller. I know this is an oddball item but hopefully someone out there can realize what a good deal this is on an expedition grade piece of equipment. The tent retails for $500 in the US, I am looking to get 250,000 for it. I am looking for a small ultralight tent or high quality bivy-sack, so will consider a trade. PM me regarding inquiries.
For sale is a 2005 "Tempest" model Bibler tent. It is a two person, four season, four pole shelter for any environment. It is also single-walled, meaning it doesn't need a rain cover or "fly". The fabric is similar to gore tex on the outside with a moisture wicking inner layer. It has two doors, each with its own vestibule. It has tons of space for a two-person tent, I'm a big guy, and I can comfortably kneel inside. Also has trademark Bibler venting system. At less than 3kg, it is not only one of the finest, but also one of the lightest four pole expedition tents you can buy. Properly set up and guyed, it is capable of withstanding enormous winds, deep snow, and torrential rains. I have used this tent in Mongolia, Siberia, Alaska, and elsewhere and I have never needed to even think about the weather as long as I've got this thing in my pack.
The tent itself is two years old, and has had a fair amount of use. However, it is very durable and in excellent condition. It has a minor rip on the bottom of one of the vestibules, which can easily be repaired (the vestibules are made of conventional fabric) With proper care, it should last for years to come.
