And pretend to be a friend of the groom's.

He had studied in the US but no friends to show for it...so pay 100,000 to an english teacher in Korea!

What sad little lives....

No surprises there - been in Korea for over 2 years now and have no local friends...

Someone call Charles and report a visa violation, unless the OP is on an F visa. Laughing

I'm gonna call Charles anyway. After all, you might have talked to someone at the wedding in English, which may constitute a 'lesson'
Something has to be done about these private lessons!

Just called him, he said he is on it. He will brake up the "legal" teaching when the bride walks down with the dry ice and corny music.

Yes you are right, at my wedding I said hell no to bubbles. Did anyone else have two girls with swords walk them down. That was wierd, had a hard time trying to explain that to my parents.

There is actually a Korean company that will "rent" you relatives/friends if you need some to fill out your side of the church (for whatever reason). Maybe they are out of business now, but they were going strong 3-4-ish years ago.

The g/f was telling me about that earlier this week. She said that for university students especially, it is very good and easy part-time work. The demand is not as high nowadays, but there are still businesses available and the workers are signed on to companies on an outcall basis.

There's a company that will provide you with fake relatives for your wedding as well. Your parents are divorced and you don't want to tell your in-laws...call them. You're an orphan and you don't want your in-laws to know (apparently it's considered unlucky)...hey no problem just pick up the phone!
