I'm keen on going to some Korean movies but I'd of course need to find ones that would play with English subtitles.

Can Any one point a few out to me, or areas where I may find one?

Also, any particular good Korean flicks I should catch that are playing right now?

Once in a blue moon a film gets shown in some special theaters with sub titles. Some Korean actress won big at Cannes. Keep an eye out for that one to get some limited release in Seoul with subtitles. Koreans are like people anywhere in the world, they don't like subtitles in their movies. They're forced enough to have them in American flix. They don't want them distracting them in their own Korean language movies. It's been tried before and met with complaints from the Korean movie going public.

The best option is catch them a couple months later in a DVD bang with your favorite lady.

If your Korean language level is even only elementary, believe me you will still understand about 80% of the movie if not 100%.

Koreans are very touchy feely people and you will often understand most of the gist of what was said through body language and the storyline anyway.

Give it a go and I am sure that you will be surprised at how much you end up understanding. Very Happy

Our dvd rental place has a decent selection of Korean dvds with English subtitles. The guy suggests which ones we might like (he's really nice).

I read that Seoul is offering a special screening each month of English subtitled Korean films, but I can't remember the details. There is a schedule of Korean films with English subtitles on:
http://www.worknplay.co.kr/Entertainment/filmmusic/koreanmoviessubtitles/koreanmoviesubtitles.aspx

However, the dates seem to be from 2005. Maybe someone could request an update. You could send them an e-mail.
