Following the "Foreign Teacher Gave Me AIDS" debarcle from teh Chosun Ilbo, I found this in the same paper

http://english.chosun.com/w21data/html/news/200705/200705180020.html

Quote:
Meanwhile, Gwangmyeong Mayor Lee Hyo-seon has invited censure again with offensive remarks about African-Americans. Lee was forced to give up his membership in the Grand National Party after he made derogatory remarks about Jeolla Province last July. On Monday, Lee made the faux pas at a luncheon with a visiting delegation from the Washington branch of the presidential Advisory Council on Democratic and Peaceful Unification. When I visited Washington D.C., I saw niggers swarm all around the city," he said. "How can you live in such a scary place? I was so afraid that I didnt come out of my hotel at night.

Even funnier when you consider the context in which it was said.

Quote:
The delegation were in the Korean city to form a twin relationship with the Gwangmyeong branch of the unification council.

Whatever next?

Edit. Beep is a derogatory word for people of African American descent.

Korea's batting 1000 these days. I can't wait to see what's next.

Especially interesting when its coming on the heels of the VA Tech massacre.

Korean Mainstream Media: Oh no! Americans will pidgeon hole all Koreans and judge us by the actions of one crazy guy like we would if a foreigner did the same here in Korea! Look out! There will be a horrible backlash! *ducks and covers*

What? No backlash? No angry anti-Korean protests? No overt displays of racism?? Assa!!! Well, it's back to business as usual boys. Let's get cracking on blaming foreigners for all the ills in Korea and use obscure, isolated incidents to paint them all with the same brush.

Not to mention the international pig protest incident.
