Yeah, it's a bummer. There's probably technology out there that will let you do it, but you'd probably have to sell a kidney to be able to afford it.
If you want to compromise and just use audio for listening exercises then download:
Soundtap
You can download a free 'minimal' version that works ok, although I laid out the money (I think it was about $70 Australian dollars) and downloaded the full version. I use it for downloading music streams that you wouldn't otherwise be able to save. I haven't tried it myself, but I'm sure that if you ran a video clip with Soundtap running in the background it would record the audio in the same way.
Just make sure that you close down all other windows/programs whilst you run it as it (Soundtap) will crash if it picks up different audio signals. Takes about an hour to figure out how to use it properly, but once you have, you should be able to record sound clips from all (naughty) sources. |

I save videos from Youtube in flash format (.flv), it is easy. There are several videos on Youtube no less that will teach you.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=tRTk0RPXtW4&mode=related&search= (remeber to add .flv at the end of the file name)
You can use them in the flash form, or convert them to another format with a free encoder. Riva has both a free flv player and free encoder http://www.rivavx.com/index.php?downloads (choice Free Riva FLV Encoder 2.0) |

If you're using a classroom computer (and don't have your own classroom with your own computer that only you're allowed to use) I'd strongly recommend using something you get off naver.com or daum.net. If it's linked from one of them it most likely works on a Korean computer. If it's linked from some western site there's a great chance for SNAFUs that can torpedo part of a lesson very easily.
In fact just today I went to a classroom after school to try out a travel video from a western site I found with google and I had to install quicktime and then it would only show in small size. I went back to the staff room and began searching on naver and [vola!] in no time I had the perfect video that worked instantly on the same classroom computer. |
