Hi
Anyone else had difficulties using Cirrus/Maestro the past 2 days? (Normally no problems).

International cash machines here are dreadful. I find it's down to luck. Somedays they work and on others they don't.

Look for machines with the sign "Global Service." The bigger chains have them. They're usually on bank machines around foreigner heavy areas. Or, press "English" when you use an ATM, and if the screen only says "domestic card," go to another bank.

My check card from California only allows the withdrawal of 400,000 won at a time, and then because of the exhange rate, I'm charged $430 PLUS a 1% FX charge.

I have always had no probs using a international (Interac network) card at the ATMs located in 7-11... was told about it by an American soldier who uses his debit card and credit card at them regularly. Just push the 'Foreign Card' button in the lower right of the screen...
