...or town whatever...

I'm thinking of moving up there in a few months, I want to be near Seoul but not in Seoul.

Cheap areas for living and renting with good transport would be good.

Suwon? Bundang?

Right now Bucheon sounds like the place for me though. (about 3 months to make a decision)

any advice would be great but please not about the job being more important the the location (yadayada Very Happy)

cheers!

Anyang has a good nightlife. Another advantage of living there is it's closer to Seoul than Suwon.

Second that. Express train to Yongsan (20 minutes) and 6 bucks from there by taxi to the 'won if you feel like it.

45 minutes to Gangnam.

Bucheon's a pretty civilized place to be.

i like anyang. i'm happy here. 45 minutes on the subway to itaewon/hongdae/gangnam. pretty sweet, good parks, good food shopping, restaurants, nightlife. it's quieter and cleaner than seoul, but convenient.
rss Cool

Live in Anyang and find yourself going to Seoul less and less because you don't really need to (except for special events or if you're into clubs).

Bundang or Ilsan.

Bundang for close proximity to Seoul and most of the facillities.

Ilsan for above plus nice lake park and mountain and laid back atmosphere.

Bundang and Ilsan are okay if your boss is providing your apartment. Otherwise, a waste of money.

For one thing, a Bundang apartment in a decent area is about twice as expensive as one in Bucheon.
