| I'm hoping to book a flight out of Korea for my upcoming vacation. I've noticed that a few posters suggest "reserving" a few flights, and cancelling later. This would be great, if in fact, true. I won't be able to pay for my flight until mid June, but would it be worth my while to start calling travel agents now? Can they reserve a seat for you without immediate payment, and if so, generally how long after do you have to pay up? Thanks in advance! |

yes, contact the travel agents now, make the reservation.
but, once the reservation is made, the seat is available, you're gonna wanna book it (pay) asap. prices continue to escalate, summer is a busy travel season, and you wanna secure that spot! immediate payment will save you money in the long run.
i just posted a note in regards to this issue in another thread. i've been hassling all the travel agents to book my trip and they claim the flights are booked. i've been wait listed. meanwhile, the initial fare they offered is no longer valid and things just keep getting pricier!
my advice: book that trip asap, borrow the money if you have to. |

Yeah, travel agents here belong in hell. There are seats available; they just buy all of them up and then charge insane prices. When you board the plane, expect to see about 20-30 empty seats.
Try and book directly from the airline. I find that to be the best and cheapest way. |
