I find it fascinating when sitting in my school cafeteria the number of Koreans I work with who close their eyes in quiet prayer before they eat.
It's all very subtle and short, almost blissful to watch, and then the frenzied chomping and smacking begins.
What I do wonder though is how can some one make such a concerted effort to thank God for the food when the head cook/chef can walk their table ignored? |

What's even weirder is people believing that they're actually praying to something that exists, praying to something they know deep down doesn't exist, or doing it only for appearances. |

But does it make it taste better? And once the FTA comes into place will they pray thanks for American rice too? |
