I have a Sony digital video camera that uses the little digital tapes to record on. I have been having some trouble uploading at digital quality to my computer. Does anyone know of good uploading/editing software?
All help appreciated.

Tell us what software you have been using.
What's wrong with the quality?
What size is the file after you capture it on the computer?
I use Nero 7 to capure and edit my MiniDV tapes. |

What program are you using? I think any program should give you digital quality. It might be the settings. Make sure the settings in the program, when you upload, match the settings of your camera when you recorded.
For example:
DV NTSC; 29.97 fps; frame size: 720/480; 48kHz (16 bit) audio; etc.
Also your program may be set to lower quality for editing. At a lower quality you can work faster, but the video will be lower quality. At high quality, it works slower but the video quality is better. Either way, your final output would (should) be high, DV quality, as long as your settings, as mentioned above, were the same as your camera's settings.
Hope this helps. I haven't done this in a while so someone please correct me if I'm wrong. |

Thanks for the info. I will give your tips a try. I was capturing with Windows movie maker, but it could be that I was not adjusting my settings properly.
