I'd never seen 'Nip/Tuck' until I got to Korea. Was bored with things and bought the first season DVD at E-Mart for a steal. I have to say, it's a great show...fine actors, mind-blowing plots for the most part, well-chosen music, etc. Have just now finished the second season and have the third and fourth on DVD (props, Yongsan) ready and eager to watch.
This is as far as dramas are concerned...with comedy shows, I've also enjoyed the U.K. version of 'The Office', 'Penn and Teller's Bullshi.t' and 'Arrested Development'. I suppose it's that I've been abroad for a few years and either didn't catch these shows when they first came out...wasn't always a big fan of television as a diversion, but now I have more unspoken-for time...or didn't catch on in the first place.
I know many people are now big followers of shows such as 'Lost' (didn't resonate with me as far as the supernatural element, though interesting in the interpersonal element), 'Heroes' (haven't yet found the time to watch it past the near-end of the first season), 'Dexter' (just picked up the first season, but yet to watch), 'House' (never seen it), 'Prison Break' (love it, though the plot is often preposterous)...and more. These are all fairly recent.
What are you watching these days that are a few years or more ago from premiering? 'Nip/Tuck' started in '93. It's been awhile. My favorite drama...a close call, due to the relative quality of the acting...is 'Six Feet Under'. 'Nip/Tuck' is damn close in my book.
Mad props to such sites as www.tv-links.co.uk and similar for making the viewing possible. Almost effortless...as well as many movies, frequently updated. Dead links aside, they're good at working out the kinks given notice and a bit of time.
You?
yes, I know the majority of these shows are from the U.S. |

I concur with Arrested Development.
I've got the first two series on DVD, but haven't seen the final series yet. One of my all time top US TV shows - excellent stuff.
For those that haven't seen it, you can watch them for free here |

It seems like everyone is into Lost and Heroes right now.
They're not bad, but Lost just doesn't even try to fill in the plot holes that drive people insane.
Heroes is ok, but it takes itself way too seriously for what it is.
Nip/Tuck is incredible. I just watched season 1 and was blown away at how they use plastic surgery as a metaphor for life and social/moral issues. |

The Black Donnellys. It has unfortunately been canceled but definitely a good mob drama. |

Never heard of them...now that I have caught up on all the shows I like, and have stopped watching the crap *coughPrisonBreakcough* I am in need of new shows to watch. Can you throw me a bone and tell me what it is about them you like? |

Yeah. She's great in this. Eddie Izzard is a great talent but I'm still getting used to him acting with a script and in an American accent (dodgy!). I think he just about pulls it off though. And I've noticed they allow him a little bit of his surreal stand-up character in the part. |
