I was waiting at a crosswalk the other evening with a few friends the other night when we noticed a bit of an altercation happening inside a taxi stopped at the crossing. As we were walking by, the passenger slapped the ajosshi taxi driver quite hard across the face. The taxi driver looked like he was about to cry and drove on through the crossing. Obviously, we didn't know what had occurred prior to the slap but we were a bit shocked.

Anyway, I was telling this story to my K-girlfriend last night and her reaction was: "Yeah, taxi drivers can be terrible sometimes." Shocked It's not that she misunderstood the story but she just assumed the taxi driver did something wrong and deserved to be slapped. We assumed that the passenger was in the wrong because there's no need to sleep an older man under any circumstances.

Does this show a basic difference in mindsets?

No, it shows a difference in speculation.

I would 'speculate' the old taxi driver said something he shouldn't have.

Women all over the world tend to be a bit defensive in taxis because they are a little vulnurable and there have been some horror stories.
