RE: airfare reinbursement issued by public schools in Incheon.

For those of you currently working in a public school in Incheon do you feel you received fair value for your airfare reinbursement from the Incheon Office Of Education? [You are to receive this reinbursement sometime during the first month of employment or shortly thereafter].

I my case I just received a reinbursement yesterday [06.1] exactly three months after having arrived in Incheon and the amount was KW707,000 for a $870.00(CAN) ticket. I had earlier signed a form requesting an amount of KW720,000 - based on the exchange rate on April 25th {when I signed the form]. I am not complaining nor am I upset over this. Rather I am just curious that the amount I received turns out to be based on an exchange rate [CAN$ to KW] figure of 812KW for $1CAN. Do the math. Has there been that much movement on the rate of exchange between the CAN dollar and the Korean won over the past month? Is the CAN$ getting stronger these days?

that's all folks..

Actually, there has been a significant change in the exchange rate in the last month. I would argue that you should get the exchange rate on the day you paid for the ticket.

The Canadian dollar is currently trading at a 30+ year high against the US dollar. As result it is also super strong against every other currency at the moment. A lot of the move has happened in the last few months, so yes, there has been a significant change since you bought your ticket.
