|
|
Hi,
I am here from May to July, and will return back to india...
Back home Ive a desktop PC with pentium 4 and intel 845GV motherboard...
I am using a 256 mb ddr ram
I wanna buy a 1 Gb ram from Korea and take home, but I dont know how to select the right ram...
Can some one please help me?
Can I buy any 1GB ram and fit it in my motherboard?
I will be using only the 1GB ram and wont couple it with the existing old ram...
also my mobo supports DDR 333/266/200/PC133 SDRAM
Can someone guide me as to which RAM i must buy? |

DDR 333 is, I believe, PC2700 RAM. If you aren't going to use the old RAM, just get any old RAM and plug it in when you get home. Just pitch the old stuff.
I don't think there are any other issues, but I'm sure if there are, someone else will chime in.

Seriously, did you read the OP? The PC is in India, he isn't. He can't run the scan.

I'd go along with that. Just get 1GB of DDR 333. Any brand. Should not be more than 50,000. |

If you want to be really careful to make sure you get the right RAM, google your motherboard and check it's specs. I did a quick search and found this. Hope it helps.

Memory:
Supported RAM Technology: DDR SDRAM
RAM: 2 GB (max)
Supported RAM Speed: PC2100, PC1600, PC2700
