Hey those of you SMOE'ers and recent SMOE hires. How long did it take for you to get word on your job, or lack thereof? I am not sure the interview went well. I have only had informal teaching experience with tutoring and so on and I was not sure how my interviewer felt about this. We'll see...

I had my interview while I was in Seoul, and I flew home two days after my interview. I think it was about two weeks total before I heard word that I was hired.

After the interview (about two days?), I sent them an email saying it was great to finally meet with them, and thanking them for the opportunity.

A week after that I emailed my recruiter asking if he'd any idea how long before I heard, and he said he was told I was hired.... got my contract a few days after that.

I had the interview here in person as well, it was maybe 30 min. long and was then asked if I wanted middle or elementary. I signed the papers after that, done.

I guess it all depends, maybe they were desperate Laughing at that time.

It is probably a lot faster normally than it was for me. When they interviewed me, it was about two weeks before their official interview process had begun. They wanted to meet me in person before I went back to Canada, so they got me in there a little early. This may have been the cause for the two week delay. Perhaps they weren't able to begin handing out contracts until a certain period, and since I was snuck in early for an interview, I had to wait.

I could be wrong though. Who knows. Smile
