Looking for any bright ideas. I graduate at the end of June when I will be given my course transcript and officially have my degree. However the college does not produce the certificate until October. I want to go to South Korea to teach but only have 12 months to do it in. I can leave the end of August but need to be back to begin a course at the end of August 2008.

If anyone has any useful ideas about how to approach this I would be grateful.

You got to have the degree on hand. Otherwise, forget it.

Ask or bribe your uni to make an exception and print your degree earlier.

Explaining your situation might also work.

You cannot LEGALLY work without the degree in hand - immigration requirement.

ILLEGAL options are open but you should be aware that you will have NO protection under the law if your hakwon decides to cheat you (like forgetting to pay you)

AND

if you are caught working illegally you WILL be FINED and deported at YOUR expense.

IF you cannot or will not pay the fine or departing air ticket you will be held in detention until you can or are willing/able to.
