Jungmun beach in Jeju is the only real cool beach in the country of South Korea. Its 2 hours away by plane and car rental....

Hallim beach on the West coast of Jeju rocks, too. I've also been pleased with some beaches on the mainland when they aren't crowded. Nothing like Thai beaches, but cheap to get to by bus or car.

There are many nice beaches up the east coast. I quite like Mangsang at the moment.
