Hi.....I'm teaching a grade 2 class at summer camp this year and I'm thinking of integrating a phonics workbook into the class. I have used EFL Phonics 1 in the past. I was wondering if anyone has had good success with another series for little kids that are brand new to English. Thanks. |

All phonics books are rubbish, in my opinion. They all go too fast and assume too much.
Best to make your own.
Go to the link at the bottom and find all you need. |

Sounds fun!
Phonics for children 1
It is what I use for my lowest level students. This first book is about 110 pages. It ONLY focuses on the alphabet and beginning sounds. It focus' on 3 letters at a time. I really recommend this book. It is the best I have found |

Let's Go Starter is a pretty good beginner book for letters..... If you are looking at kids who know letters then try the Let's Go Phonics 1..... |

AlphaPhonics is THE BEST!!!!!!!! Kind of pricey at 30,000 a copy, but SOOOOO worth it! You can add to it by playing fly-swatter and bingo games, but after just 1-3 lessons, your kids are reading REAL WORDS!!

Edit: If you PM me with a fax number, I could fax you the first few pages so you can see what it's like. |

I like the Korean produced Active Phonics. It's really easy to use and has simple games/sticker fills. I've only seen it in a couple of bookstores in Seoul, but perhaps your school can order it through a bookseller. Visit http://www.curriculumhouse.com/ to see the publisher's site. |

Thank you all for your suggestions! I'm going to do the trek of the ESL bookstores this weekend and check everything out. |
