Go to the embassy. The instructions are on their website.

Yep, had mine done just last month. If, like me, you plan ahead by downloading the application and filling it all out and then printing it so that you have it ready as soon as you walk in, then be sure to SIGN the danged thing because if they don't catch it then, you'll get home to an e-mail asking you to come back and sign it. Embarassed Good thing there is no test for getting a passport.

There is a photobooth inside where you can get the kind of photos they want. Bring one thousand bills, it won't take a five. You can also fill out a courier envelope there so that they can mail you the passport when it is complete.

If you are paranoid like me and worry about your current E-2 visa in your expiring passport, point it out to them and they'll stick a post-it on it so that holes don't get stamped through that page when they cancel your old passport.

Wear blue when you get your picture taken so that at least you'll match the wavy blue lines that will get put across your face in your new passport! Laughing

According to the embassy website, you can renew your passport by mail here in Korea. You just have to have your old passport and a $67 bank draft in U.S. dollars. Check it out.

Yep, that's true...you CAN send it in by mail. I wish I had done that. Probably still would have forgotten to sign the application though! Laughing My problem was not having appropriate pictures which is why I went in person. Certainly much easier to do the whole thing by mail.
