| Sounds like the stopper at the bottom of the water tank isn't closing. Sometimes the chain gets hung up on something or tangled. Open the tank and look in and see of the stopper closes when you flush it. If the chain is tangled just untangle it. That's probably the problem. |

Yeah, open the back,and-or jiggle the handle. Let the gasket make a seal. It'll make a nice satisfying "prfffmmmph' sound.
Once you hear the happy ajumma sound, it'll start filling up again. Otherwise google 'plumbing newb' and get some proper advice.

| Seriously, get someone to call a plumber/handyman for you. It won't cost you much. |

Uhhh...cause the OP's toilet is overflowing with bran cobras?
We're not all as happy wallowing in our (highly economical, granted) filth as you, my weirdly-haired friend. |

Ok apparently it was clogged, I filled up a small bucket with water, dumped it in the toilet- problem solved.
Thanks for all the helpful replies. |

Keep a bucket handy. Sometimes like on a Homer Simpson type double flush. The reservoir has not had time too refill. That would leave the little puddle syndrome. This is a water pressure symptom.
Also effective high altitude flush for lack of drainage. Keeping the seat open. Raise the bucket at least above your waist, dump bucket into toilet bowl. That should flush most clogs. Much more sanitary than a plunger. |
