I need to know a few things about the national insurance.

1. First of all, what are the obligations of the employers at a hagwon? ie. How much do they pay? When are they required to enroll us?

2. What are my obligations? What do I pay?

3. Is there a place to report an employer who refuses National Health Insurance coverage ANONYMOUSLY?

4. Is it required that if you sign up for National Ins. that you must sign up for pansion and industrial acciedent and unemployment ins.?

Please help me I am really stressed about this situation.

Thanks for your help.

I don't have the answers to all of your questions but I will start things off for you that you should be imediately enrolled into the insurance plan. Now, you might not get your actuall insurance card for some time (month max) but you should be enrolled.

You employer should pay half and you should pay half.

I am sure Ttompatz or others can give you links where you can look up what the fees are. It should not be that much.

Your employer is required to enroll you in the national pension and medical as soon as you have your ARC. They are required to pay 50% of the pension contributions and 50% of the medical premiums .

2. What are my obligations? What do I pay?

You pay the other 50% of the premiums. At the moment your portion of the pension contributions is 4.5% of your salary and medical is 2.385%. Your employer is required to match this

3. Is there a place to report an employer who refuses National Health Insurance coverage ANONYMOUSLY?

Contact the pension office by phone at 1355 and the medical plan at: 1577-1000. It would help if you had a Korean speaker to assist you on the phone.

4. Is it required that if you sign up for National Ins. that you must sign up for pansion and industrial acciedent and unemployment ins.?

If you get medical you must get pension (they are both required by law and are NOT optional). As an E2 holder you are EXEMPT from paying into the unemployment insurance and the industrial accident insurance is 100% the responsibility of the employer. You do NOT pay any portion of the premuims for those.

Please help me I am really stressed about this situation.

Thanks for your help.
