So a couple of years ago, one of my near-sighted students came to class without glasses. I asked her where her glasses were and she said she didn't need them anymore. Naturally I asked her why that was, and she replied something about "Dream lenses" which she explained you wore only at night and they correct your vision. I thought she was either mental or just couldn't explain properly in English what had happened to her glasses. This was in 2004.

Today, I was flipping through the internet and ran across this website:
http://news.independent.co.uk/health/article2614899.ece.

Oops. Guess she wasn't mental after all.

My cousin in the US wore vision corrective lenses like 5 or 6 years ago. She told me at first she had to wear these special contacts for a few months. They would basically reshape your eye. After that she could decrease the amount of time that she had to wear them. At the peak of their effectiveness, you only had to wear those contacts for like an hour or 2 a day.
