I was browsing today and thought someone might be interested in this,
it pays about 19000 pounds tax free. If anyone applies, tell us how you got on.

Wouldn't this be of more interest to those in the Middle East forums?

Not really mate, teachers often get together over a beer and chat about what it would be like to work in Japan or Thailand, Dubai or Kuwait etc.

I think its appropriate here.

I was there on a 3 month contract last year. I was teaching their soldiers how to speak English and all I can say is, they are more lazier than any korean student I had ever taught.
Unless they have a very solid curriculum or allow you to develop your own, you might find it hard to work there.
As for living, it was not bad- food was cheap and there are more in their grocery stores than anyplace in Korea. I lived across the street from a park and down the street from the gulf, which made for an excellent jog.
Also, if you are good at bargaining and if you can live without alot of luxuries, you can save tons of money and unlike Asia, part time tutoring is not illegal and they range from 5KD to about 12KD an hour depending on the place, the best place to do part time work was AMmidest, an institute sponsored Amcham and the US embassy- check it out if you decide to go.

And if you do decide to go, remember not to use taxis too much, they see a foreigner and think "$$", the best mode of transport were called "whanits", they are local Kuwaitis in white pickup trucks. I was able to travel from my house to Kuwait city (about 36 miles) for only 4KD (about $12), which was extremely good.
