I wasn't cheap about buying a blanket, and I washed it, because you have to wash your blankets, and I washed it alone, and the reddish parts of the blanket stained parts of the blue. What gives? Do I have any recourse in this country? Or do I just live with it? I can't believe the quality of the thing. I do have the receipt, there is a number on it....

This really sucks...

I don't know much about the return/exchange policy on the ROK; however, I would be polite, show them you item and hope for the best. Better to give it a try then just stew about it.

Did you check the label? You might have washed it in the wrong temp or it may have been a hand wash item.

Well, if the colors have run together, you're screwed.

To be honest, there's probably no reason to carry on living.

No offense, but when I read this thread title, I assumed it was one Princess started.

"Can you believe this cheap country? I bought this new blanket and right away it got all ruined in the washing machine!! What's up with that? I'm never buying cheap blankets again. It's only Louis Vuitton blankets for me from now on! They go better with my cute pink Prada pillowcases anyway!!! Hehehehe!"

IF this was through no fault of yours, and IF the company won't refund such shoddy merchandise, then go to the Korean Consumer Protection Board (Korea's version of the BBB). They have a website.

Good point, he should have went to a dry cleaner. Anyway its only a blanket. Unless ur grandma hand stitched the entire history of your family onto it, don't get too upset.

That seems to be a very reasonable question and something to do before going ballistic and complaining to the store or company..... Wink

Perhaps it was a dry clean only blanket...cold water only...hot water only...ya never know.

I had my feather down comforter mailed to me from the US. This is an expensive blanket. I bought it Switzerland when I was there a few years ago.

This blanket is seriously, like a big white fluffy cloud. Its a little too hot for it now, but I can't wait til winter to use it again. It doesn't matter if you are sleeping on the floor or on a pillowtop mattress. This blanket makes it so that you don't ever want to leave your bed. Ever.

Looks like I'll be getting it dry cleaned. At home we had a front load washing machine that was safe for blankets and comforters. Here, I'll spend the extra money and not take my chances.

I didn't actually say cheap country. I said the bloody blanket was of shoddy quality, and I paid a pretty penny for the thing. I had much cheaper blankets back home and you could put them through hell and nothing would happen to the blankets.... I can understand why you would think someone else was the OP. Nonetheless, yours truly is somewhat ticked, but I have the receipt and something written in Korean to try to deal with it.... I did like the blanket til that happened...

Here is an update: they exchanged the blanket and told me I should watch it using cold water. I am going to be extremely careful. This just never happened to me before. It's bizarre. I would have ordered a blanket from on-line had I known. With the shipping and handling it would have been less, anyway. I am glad they were gracious to let me exchange it.
