I keep reading about CDI. Some posters claim that it's the best hagwon job out there, and others claim that working for CDI is an utter nightmare. I'm sure that the truth is somewhere in between.
For those of you who have worked for CDI or are currently working at one of their hagwons as a teacher, what has your experience been like? Also, if you don't mind my asking, how many hours do you work and how much do you take home?
Is it more desirable to teach at a hagwon like CDI or would you rather teach at a public school? What are the trade-offs?
Thanks! |
For someone on an F4 it is ideal. Great hourly wage and no housing, benefits or deductions other than being taxed as a subcontractor.
Live with your family, rake in the cash. Develop your contacts and move on to bigger and brighter when you are ready.
For someone on an E2 it is rough and you get cheated out of all your legal entitlements.

Ttompatz I guess that's the same for a F2? |
