have been living in seongbuk gu since march; just bought a new bike (my 3rd here in korea btw) and there doesn't seem to be a reasonably close destination to bike to in this area

in the past i've biked along the han and it's tributaries, all over daichi dong, and jeonju my first gig in korea -

not much is ever mentioned on this board about biking - i know there's others like me out there - especially in summer - which is my favorite time to ride, after midnight when the air is cooler - there's a surprising large number of riders out then also along the river

so how about it - what's YOUR favorite place to ride? maybe we can even start a bike club or something - no fancy outfits required (unless that's your thing), i just do comfortable clothes and my bike is a simple folding type; not an expensive touring bike

Not near Seongbuk, but biking up Namsan to the tower is nice. Recently, there have been signs in Hangul with a picture of bike and international "no" sign over it, but that doesn't stop people from going.

I enjoy riding through the traffic, too, and exploring new streets. Wear your helmet for that adventure.

ooh i like riding thru streets - especially small winding ones - but don't wear a helmet, just can't, i get too hot and it impedes my concentration

riding is second nature to me, i'm very careful and i don't see k's wearing them except those who look like they're in a team of some sort
