Alright guys, we got ourselves a doozy this Sunday. I am not sure what channel it will be on, but one of the GREAT things about this beloved country is that we WILL get the fight for free! It will start at 11 AM on Sunday, maybe on Xtreme Sports or one of the other sports channels. Anyone with definitive details on the broadcast please let us all know. So fight fans, thoughts on this card and predictions?

It looks like it will be on x-sports. Can't wait to see this one. One of my favorite things about Korea is that the fights are free. |

I pick Jackson again, he totally dominated the last fight, and Liddel has not added any new tricks to his kit sinse then, while Jackson has fought some major level opponents and improved his skills. |

Maybe he hasn't improved, but had Liddel? If nothing has changed then it should theoretically be Jackson again. I like Liddel though, as a fighter and a personality. I also like Jackson, so it's not like Im a fan of one and just picking my guy. I really do think Jackson will take it. But it sure will be an interesting fight.
I think a Fedor vs Cotoure fight would be the most exciting fight in mma right now though. I think Cro Cop may be finished, not sure. And this Gonzaga guy is looking very interesting. |

He gained a lot since that fight. He hired a new trainer to work on his condition. He obviously gassed quickly. Since that fight he has not had a problem with his cardio (he looked fine and his punches crisp in the later rounds with tito even though experts predicted it wouldn't be so).
second, his take down defense has improved remarkable since his first fight with randy. The first time they fought randy took him down at will. This was obviously not the case in their second and third encounter. |

WINNERS IN BOLD
Chuck Liddell v. Quinton Jackson ( Healthy and focused this time )
Terry Martin v. Ivan Salaverry ( 2 UFC loses by Decision )
Josh Burkman v. Karo Parisyan ( Better fighter )
Houston Alexander v. Keith Jardine ( Alexander not ready )
Kalib Starnes v. Chris Leben ( Leben loses he is done )
Thiago Silva v. James Irvin ( Silva what else is needed )
Sean Salmon v. Alan Belcher ( Alan Belcher is replacement ...not ready )
Jeremy Stephens v. Din Thomas ( Experiance )
I'm not sure they have it anymore, but they used to run a fantasy pool on the UFC site. I ofcourse never did to well. |

Well I would actually love to be proved wrong, I like Chuck, but Im sticking to my prediction. Chuck just doesn't have a ground game. I feel his only chance is to land a big hit very early on and get Jackson rocked and then finish him off quick, which is of course a very real possibility as Chuck has very heavy hands. But think about it, Jackson is extremely tough and has a great jaw. Im not exactly sure but has he ever been beaten from standing knockout? OK, Silva did take him to the cleaners with the knees that time. But as mma matures as a sport, there are less and less clean standing knockouts. It seems you have to have a ground game. |

Although your comments have merit, were you aware Chucky Liddell has a strong background as a wrestler from both High School and College. He escaped takedown attempts from the some of the best UFC has to offer. He has beaten:
Tito Ortiz
Renato Sobral
Randy Couture
Jeremy Horn
Randy Couture
Vernon White
Tito Ortiz
Alistair Overeem
Renato Sobral
Vitor Belfort
Amar Suloev
Murilo Bustamante
Guy Mezger
Kevin Randleman
Jeff Monson
Steve Heath
Kenneth Williams
Jose Landi-Jons
Noe Hernandez
Rampage lost to:
Mauricio Rua
Wanderlei Silva
Wanderlei Silva
Mikhail Illoukhine
Sean Grey
Kazushi Sakuraba
Marvin Eastman
If he beats Rampage he, then noone in the world holds an advantage over him. Regardless it should be a good fight. Hopefully better than the B.S. that was hyped between Diego Sanchez and Josh Koscheck.

The weigh in for Liddell and Jackson was televised on ESPN. USA Today and Sports Illustrated also have had articles and coverage for this fight. It is pretty cool to see MMA finally get mainstream media coverage in the United States. Holy crap I cant wait for this fight tomorrow!! |

Now that Pride has been sold to Zuffa then Pride fighters will jump into the mix with UFC fighters. Keep in mind that Dan Henderson, Shogun, W. Silva, and Nogueira are also in the same weight class now as Chuck. Only one man in the UFC has been able to dominate him on the ground and that was Randy Coture in that fight Chuck lost to him. Henderson, Shogun, and Nogueira have WORLD CLASS ground games wheras Coture doesn't measure up to either three on the ground.
The only way Chuck wins this fight is if he keeps it standing because Jackson will be able to take him down easier than any fighter he has fought. If Jackson takes the fight to the ground, it will be a quick fight.
