Hey, just had a kid and trying to get it registered with the Cdn embassy.

The Korean hospital gave us a birth certificate that DOES NOT have the baby's name on it. The Canadian Embassy called me to tell me to get another birth certificate made that DOES have the baby's name. Korean hospital says they can't do that.

Has this happened to anyone else? How was it rectified?

Just go back to your hospital and ask them for a certificate with name on it.

Our clinic gave us two certificates - one in Korean and one in English - but the doc deals with foreigners all the time, so he knows what to do.

We had a similar experience last summer when our little bundle came.

So, if I have an English version made up and I throw on her name (the Korean version won't have a name as the hospital insists they can't) and I get it stamped by the hospital, is that enough for the Canadian officials?

Probably. No harm in trying.
