During an apartment move, my Bose multimedia speaker system decide to stop working. They were a little over a year old and were a couple hundred dollars when I bought them in the States.
I know nothing about speaker repair. So I want to know is repairing speakers usually possible or affordable? If so, where in Seoul would I need to go? Or will I need to wait until i go back to the States to have them repaired?

Thanks.

Is it a case of absolutely no power or are the speakers making some kind of noise?

Sound card settings maybe? "Digital output only" setting should be turned OFF.

It could be a blown fuse in the amplifier section of your speakers. Easy to replace. Worst situation is a blown transformer or cracked circut board. In that case it might be better just to get new speakers.

This may sound like a dumb question but....

If they are from the states and they take their power from the wall circuit, did you perchance blow the power supply by plugging a 110v system into a 220v circuit?

One of the repair shops in Electroland or son-in-plaza may be able to help you but they will replace it with a 220v system.

There are great speaker repairmen in Nagwon, the instrument mega-building near Insa-dong.

Thanks for everybodys help. It was indeed a blown power supply. I was able to have it repaired (cheaply) in Nagwon. Thanks again for the advice.
