when i flew into siem reap (cambodia) they did it all right there in the airport for 10 bucks (USD), i think, plus 10 bucks for the photo (which you could bring if you want)... seems like the easiest way to go! |

COuld you provide us a short run down of city name/ distances to beaches(with waves), if any, bars/ party districts, red light districts, and anything else cool rural or urban worth looking into for a five day trip to Cambodia in February?
Thank you and we appreciate the knowledge. |

You can also apply for the Cambodia visa online at http://evisa.mfaic.gov.kh/ and it's very easy. Just fill out the application and upload a photo. |

It's been a few years, but the riverfront is probably still the best place to be in the capital of Phenom Penh. The Foreign Corrispondents Club was a safe place to hang out and party while the Heart of Darkness was the bar down the street where you went when you felt lucky and wanted to tempt fate. An exciting place, but Cambodia is still kind of Wild West, so watch yourself. As for the rest, ask a motorbike taxi driver.
There are beaches at Shinookville on the coast, a long day away from PP on a crowded bus, but I couldn't vouch for the surf there. As for sightseeing, You may want to take a boat up the river and across the inland sea to the temples of Angkor. |

i had a great week in cambodia... i think that both ankor wat and phnom penh are must sees, but with only 5 days it might be a bit tricky... if you're only there for a week, splurge on a decent $40/night hotel with a pool and breakfast included... PM me for some great hotels in siem reap and phnom penh...
oh yeah, and make sure to try some "happy" pizza... and ask for extra "happy" on top! |
